OAKRIDGERS BLOG

Grade 4 Oakridgers had fun learning in creating a blog. They learnt how the whole blogging process works and why people or organization use it these days effectively. They added post on their favorite sport doing text formatting and inserted colourful pictures. They had good time in reading their folks post and commented on them & later reflected on the blogging experience by commenting against the welcome post of their ICT teacher.

ANIMAL LIFECYCLE

Grade 3 Learners did a brief discussion on life cycle of a animal. They researched on their favorite animal type and drew a life cycle diagram in word document using smart art option. They chose their favorite smart art diagram template, changed colors and each stages were mentioned by adding pictures representing it.

ALL ABOUT “+ – or = ” XPRESSIONS

Grade 2 Learners did math activity on kidspiration tool on addition, subtraction and comparison”> < or = ” expressions. They had fun learning by placing colour tiles under each addition / subtraction expressions above the given boxes.later they compared the results and added the right symbols <, > or =. Pending projects were also  reviewed and completed

COUNTING

Grade 1 Learners did online counting tiles activity in Kidspiration tool and  enjoyed this math work placing correct number of colorful tiles for each given number in the box. Pending projects were also reviewed and completed.

MY FAMILY PHOTO

Grade 1 Learners did a family portrait of their own family on an online interactive web tool by selecting right costumes for each member including dress , hairstyle and then placing them in appropriate positions for the photo.

DRESS UP !!

Grade 2 Learners discussed on how important is wearing  appropriate clothes depending on the occasion. Later they did “DRESS UP ” activity on interactive kidspiration tool where children chose the right clothing for each of the pic  given the situation or event.

SAVE ANIMALS !!!

Grade 3 Learners had a class discussion on animal extinction as to how  the animals are disappearing due to various reasons like human intervention , pollution and natural disasters. Later they were introduced to Ms Publisher software to design a poster on “Save animals ” and so  were given a briefing on formatting features like inserting picture, aligning it , page colour and changing the appearance of the text etc. They were able to create a poster on their favorite animal.

ALL ABOUT SKYPING !!

Grade 4 Learners were introduced  to online communication tool ” SKYPE ” . They were given a briefing on how a skype account is created and working method of the tool . An  Interactive session through Skype was conducted with Ms Simi Herby who works as PYP coordinator in an international school in Bangalore where students interviewed her on the aspects of modern communication & her views on social media.

Learners also went through a presentation on blogging and different aspects of it.

Grade 1 Learners did online interactive activity on a web based tool about family and created family tree of their own using sample photos which represented each family members and pets.
