Grade 4 Learners were introduced to scratch software and learnt the basics of animation and coding. They made their own animation story using the various tools present in the software like adding simple block-like interfaces for animation ,characters, dialogues and background images.
Grade 5 learners Understood the purpose of Gif Images and their working. Learn to create an animation loop using online animation maker Abcya Animate” and run it as Gif image using any browser.Learners created an animation on the Parts of the Earth including core, crust and mantle. They added appropriate pictures and dialogues to the animation and adjust the speed of its running by specifying the correct number of frames per second.
Grade 5 Oakridgers Identified and visualized the factors that led to the changes on
the earth and that had resulted in the current state of the planet. They created the process diagram of Planet earth’s formation using online tool Popplet and labeled the various stages involved in the formation of earth using simple descriptions and pictures.
Grade 3 Learners Identified the important elements of an advertisement like logo, product picture, offer details, website name, contact address, captions etc. They understood the purpose of advertisements in grabbing the attention of the mass of viewers and identify that makes an advertisements appealing. They were introduced to the basics of MS Publisher and created colorful advertisements posters to familiarize a product among the audience.
Grade 3 Learners created a movie poster in a web based tool ” Learn Alberta” by understanding different elements like title, caption etc to be added for a movie poster.
They also wrote a Newspaper article after watching a report on an incident that gets reported through ” Learn Alberta”. They added title, caption and right picture for the storybased on the incident and described the whole event.
Grade 2 Oakridgers were able to Identify various places present on the World Map and
understand how Map marking in done to record useful information. They Understood how maps are used to study the Human migration patterns and completed the map marking activity in http://mapmaker.nationalgeographic.org/ on the places they have visited and lived in and wrote the reasons for migration.
Grade 1 Learners identified the place where they live and wrote their address in the form of text and pictures using Kidspiration tool. They included details like Apartment name or number, Street name, City name, State and host country.
Grade 1 Learners were introduced to MS paint software and its features like how to add background colour, fill colour, add shapes, add text,change font, font size font colour Learners created National flag of India and wrote the meaning of the colors in the flag.Learners colored the flag using the color palette tools and learn the undo and Redo operations.
Learners reflected on their understanding about the email communication process in kidspiration tool. They added shapes,text and images and connected them showing the flow of data from sender’s email to receiver’s email account.They also added barriers that might come across while using this type of online communication.
Grade 3 Learners built online habitat for given list of animals in switchzoo.com where they reflected on their understanding about “Compatibility” of an animal with the environment where they set right biome, vegetation and weather for its survival.
